Alabama Campgrounds and Parks Call Your Name to Come On Down
Alabama campgrounds are some of the most beautiful areas in the south that offer you lands full of nature and wildlife. You will find the friendliest hosts that are excited to meet you and have you at their camp sites. Get out your binoculars and your digital cameras because you will need them!
Take a walk around the camp area and you will get a wave or a welcome from most everyone. These Alabamians are so hospitable. Take the time to walk around and soak in the views. The lakes around you are clean and inviting. You may even see deer standing around. This is a very populated land full of forest animals. Watch out for the skunks! They look like black and white kitty cats, but smell like a pole cat!
Keep a good distance between you and that cute animal or you will have a very unpleasant experience and will stink up the whole campground. That is one you will only want to photograph from afar off.
The average southern United States weather is hot in the summer and warm in the spring. It also brings chilly winds and cold nights in the winter and pleasant temperatures in the fall. If you are not used to high humidity, you will be initiated very quickly.
Alabama offers you many parks statewide. You will find some in each region of this large state. These parks are full of family activities just waiting for you to enjoy. You will find water slides and light shows, caves and underground beauty, natural landscapes and golf courses, waterfalls and fishing holes, caverns and even shopping malls nearby.
Some Alabama campground areas are right on the beach, so ocean sounds bring a tranquil evening of waves crashing against the sandy beaches or a sunset reflecting off the water. Sheer natural beauty and all it's splendor. It will take your breath away by the exquisite southern charms of all that surrounds you.
Be sure to pick up a few of the most unusual rocks and sea shells on the beach. These are just full of color and detail. Our oldest granddaughter, Morgan, age 11, will be a geologist one day I'm sure of it. She loves rocks and has quite a collection already. It's nature that we sometimes take for granted, but in a child's eyes it is an unfolding of creation. Take advantage of the teaching moments with your children and grandchildren wherever you go.
