Arizona Campgrounds Bring Natural History To Life

Arizona campgrounds are full of natural history. You will find meteor craters, petrified forests, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and many other historical attractions.

Each city or town has a story to tell. Be sure to visit the Montezuma Castle Monument and Montezuma Wall. On the West side you will find the Hoover Dam. This 726 foot high structure is the highest in the U.S. You can go deep inside the vast concrete support.

Lake Mead is also on the West side. It was formed from the Hoover Dam and the Colorado River merge. Millions of vacationers visit this enormous site each year.

In the Northern Arizona campground area, the Grand Canyon steals your attention. Because of the massness of 277 miles across and one mile deep Natural Wonder, your imagination is held in neutral. You can also travel the famous "Route 66" and explore all it's splendor. Be sure to schedule a stop and gaze upon the Sedona red rocks. Hike a two hour tour on Native American land at Boynton Canyon. Take a few extra hours and go to Montezuma Castle. This is a five story castle with 20 rooms. It is truly a Kodak picture waiting to be shared.

Gold? Did you say gold? Yes! Go to Lynx Creek at Prescott and pan for gold. Where else can you pan for your own gold? Nowhere but here.

On the West Coast, you will find the Colorado River. This is hosts some of the baby bluest water you have ever seen. Many museums line the shore along with "out-of-this-world" restaurants.

When in the Northern Central part of this magnificent state, visit the Tonto National Bridge State Park. Being the world's largest natural travertine bridge, it is 400 feet wide and is 183 feet arching above Pine Creek.

While in Scottsdale, you've got to go to the Barrett-Jackson Auction. Get a bird's eye view of some of the most exquisite collector cars under one roof. You will be so glad you did. My husband watches this once a year event faithfully. They do have some nice vehicles, I might add. Make sure you bring lots of money if you plan to buy one!

As you can see, there is so much to do and see in Arizona. Make your plans today for an awesome vacation in your favorite campground tomorrow.
