Biking Sunglasses - Looking Cool While Staying Safe

Biking sunglasses is an excellent way to protect your vision and your eyes from all the elements of the air.

Made for comfort, they are also stylish. You wear bicycling clothing, so you need the cool eye protection to go with them.

Maybe you haven't thought much about eyewear when riding your bicycle. Maybe you don't think you need them. These are designed to wrap around your eyes to keep them protected.

You would be surprised at the debris in the air that could possibly get in your eyes. Think of all the bugs that fly around that are not watching out for you. Some of the advantages for wearing them are:

  • They are lightweight, not heavy.
  • They protect your eyes from wind, dust, sand and debris
  • Small rocks are blocked when a vehicle passes by
  • What about all those bugs? Aren't they a mess?
  • They keep your contact lens's from drying out.
  • They are UV Protection for your eyes.
  • They are not all that expensive.
  • You can get them in prescription form.
  • There are many different designs and colors to choose from.

Where Do I Buy Some Cool Biking Sunglasses?

Biking sunglasses are different in price and you can pay as much as you want for them. I did find some of the most popular, and in many different sytles.

If you know someone who cycles and has some cool sunglasses, ask them where they purchased them and ask about how they help them.

Never ask to try on someone else's sunglasses! Germs from others faces can get into your eyes and then you will have some problems.

What The Sun Does To Your Eyes Without Eye Protection?

The sun can play tricks on your vision if in it for too long. Black spots can start appearing. You will begin to see mirages.

Your eyes will have a hard time focusing. The sun actually dries out your eyes. Wearing sunglasses is the best way to keep your eyes protected.

Along with burning your eyes, the UV rays can cause permanent damage. It is a good idea to get your eyes checked often if you ride your bicycle a lot.

If this is your hobby, you already know what that bright light can do.

Protecting your body with the proper clothing is essential as well. Sunscreen applied to exposed skin is a must. Wind burn is likely on your skin.

Your lips will need some kind of non chapping lotion on them. The wind can really dry them out, so don't skimp on the chap stick. A good quality brand will work wonders. Also, your face will need a good moisturizing lotion on it.

The sun is our friend, but it can be our worst enemy if it is not respected as such. Always carry enough water on a cycling trip, because the sun can cause dehydration.

You can get a bottle holder that mounts to your bicycle frame. It will hold a bottle of water or even a sports drink.

You will need to drink plenty of fluids to keep your skin and your body hydrated. Being safe is one of your best defenses for any outdoor activity.
