Travel Trailers and Family Camping Bring Fun and Excitement
Get ready!
RV's, campgrounds, and family camping are enjoyed by many people as a hobby or sport. For our family, camping is a hobby. You will also find the most hospitable hosts and they will welcome you any time you are ready to stay. You will find people that visit all year round. Just make your choice, call and make your reservations, pack your camper and GO! Stop at the host gate and tell them you ready for a great family camping weekend!
These parks are open for holidays and most allow lengthy stays. There are usually play grounds for children. Bicycling is a popular form of transportation. As for our grandchildren, they like to ride in the wagon. We take our bicycles when we go camping and used to ride the grandkids when they were little in a seat attached to the back of the bicycle. Now that they are bigger, we take their bicycles and we all ride together. They really enjoy riding their bikes around the different levels.
It is a good idea to get information about your destination choice before you get there. You can find out where the nearest shopping places are. Get information about nearby hospitals and emergency help. Route out the directions you need to take so you will not get lost. When taking your family camping, extra precautions need to be taken for emergencies. If you make your reservations early online, you can choose your camping pad before the holiday weekend. Call ahead about their boating and swimming policies. Some may not allow these family activities.
You will find a washer and dryer area generally close to the restrooms. Always take some quarters for their use. It is coin operated and will only take quarters. Bring your own washing powder and fabric softner.
You can buy ice at the host station. There are bags for sale anytime the host station is open. This is a great asset to the campground. You will be needing ice for your coolers.
Your family camping area has a dumping station for your waste disposal. You can also dispose of your garbage in the dumpsters there. Be sure to tie your garbage bags up on the pole while camping to keep animals out of it. They sure make a mess of your garbage if they can reach it. You would be surprised at the ways they can get to the garbage bags. If you leave food outside your camper, it may disappear and you will have a furry friend visiting you quite often.
The wood for the fire-pit is available for you to pick up off the ground in the wooded areas. You can get any wood that's laying loose. Be sure to keep an axe on hand to cut up your wood. You can bring a bow saw also. Some hosts have wood already cut that you can get. Ask the hosts about wood gathering rules. Some people leave wood behind when they pull out of their campsite. You can get any "abandoned" wood that's left.
This is just a few things to consider before your next family camping trip. Have a safe trip and hope to see ya there.
New to Camping? Discover where to make family memories. Start right here!
The secret to family fun is TIME. Yep, that's right! You need to spend time with your family members to have fun. What better way to spend that time except while camping. You will be out in the great outdoors discovering a whole new world together. You will gain a great love for creation and each other. Why not start a journal of your camping experiences? You can pass all your legends along to your children and even grandchildren. Our grandchildren love to hear stories about when their parents went camping with us when they were small. It is a great way to bond together. Try it, you'll love it! Camping takes you away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life to a calm, serene, relaxing time out of the normal setting. Please let us know what your favorite thing about camping is. We would love to hear from you.
