Glamping?

Ever heard of glamping? If not, you are not alone. It is a combination of 2 words - glorified and camping. Some people say it means glamorous camping or luxury camping. So, which one do you do? Let's see what it is.

Let me set this straight - when I use a tent or a pop up camper, I am camping. When I use a travel trailer, also known as an RV, I am not really camping. Right?

Yes! Camping in a glorified way.

It is also referred to as "not roughing it".

Camping for girls, some might say.

Only you know what is or is not roughing it for you.

When you put up a tent, gather your own firewood, build a fire by rubbing 2 sticks together, dip water from a creek, and cook fish you caught skewered, on a stick, over your fire - that is what I call roughing it. It's the opposite of rv glamping.

I would not enjoy that kind of camping.

That is mostly what Boy Scouts do. Survival of the fittest. I'm here to tell you, I am not one of the fittest.

Glamping is more my kind of camping. Well, let's say middle of the road glamping.

Another level of glamping would be renting a fully outfitted cabin, complete with nearby tennis courts and swimming pools.

But, I digress. I prefer fancy travel trailers with modern conveniences and comforts like I have at home. Things like a TV, microwave, fridge. A fancier glamping RV would even have a dishwasher.

Pulling your travel trailer into the campground, backing it into a great relaxing site, letting the leveling feet down, building a fire with firewood you brought with you, opening the refrigerator and getting your meal ready, cooking it over the fire and sitting back and watching a little TV before bed - that's more my kind of camping.

I guess I'm a little soft skinned.

Maybe I'm somewhat lazy, or maybe spoiled, I don't know. My husband is so good to set up in whatever camping style we decide to go with.

We have gone camping on our motorcycles. That is not all bad once in a while. Getting your gear from point A to point B is the hardest thing.

I enjoyed traveling on the motorcycles to camp, but I could not do it every time I wanted to.

So, I will consider myself a glamping RV girl.

I will say my husband is a glamping trailer guy, with confidence.

Which one do you consider yourself? Do you prefer glamping or primitive camping?
