What Does Idaho Campgrounds Have To Offer Besides Museums, Caves, Theme Parks and Top of the Notch Campgrounds





What do Idaho campgrounds have to offer for your camping vacation? Let's look at some of the most spectacular attractions waiting for you.

The potato is the most popular baked vegetable and is also one of this state's most famous produce. The Potato Exposition is a worth while attraction to visit. It is in the town of Blackfoot, located off Interstate 15 and U.S. Route 91. You will find a museum, an everything imaginable potato gift shop, and the world’s largest potato chip. Included with your paid admission, you get a free baked potato and toppings.

The attractions keep getting better as you visit the Idaho Museum of Natural History. It is located on the Idaho State University campus, in Pocatello. The museum tells the story of the natural history and the Intermountain West. The Nature of Idaho's main gallery exhibit is for adults and children. The Fichter Gallery brings changing exhibits. These are open all year, but is closed on Sundays, Mondays and holidays. There is a fee charged to enter. You will want to find an Idaho campground close to all these exciting sights.

Granite columns over 2.5 billion years old and as tall as 60 stories, are found at the City of Rocks National Reserve.You will find over 14,000 acres to tour. This exquisite attraction is located near the town of Almo, which is southeast of the town of Oakley, and it also has a visitor center. During your tour, you will see inscriptions on the spires that were written with axle grease by pioneers which were passing through on the California Trail.

Find natural hot water springs at Lava Hot Springs. These were used by Indians for healing for many years.The state is the operator of this attraction and it is located near the town of Lava Hot Springs, which is off Route 30. Open year-round, you can view a water spring that has maintained a water temperature of 110°F for millions of years.
