Lake Lowndes State Park,   Campground and Recreation

Lake Lowndes State Park in Columbus, Ms. is one of the most functional parks I've been to.

They offer a full recreational facility. The lake, Lake Lowndes, is 150 acres. Located on this lake is unlimited opportunities for picnicking, fishing and camping, as well as complete facilities for football, soccer, softball, tennis, basketball, volleyball, disc golf and other organized sports.

You can fish right off the bank of the river and even picnic next to the water.

There is plenty of walking area to enjoy the scenery.

You will find an Amphitheater right in the Ranger's office.

It is very educational and informative about the wildlife in the area.
