Lake Lowndes State Park in Columbus, Ms. is one of the most functional parks I've been to.
They offer a full recreational facility. The lake, Lake Lowndes, is 150 acres. Located on this lake is unlimited opportunities for picnicking, fishing and camping, as well as complete facilities for football, soccer, softball, tennis, basketball, volleyball, disc golf and other organized sports.

Lake Lowndes State Park is located 8 miles southeast of Columbus, Ms off Hwy 69 South.
Traveling East on Hwy 82:
take the Downtown exit and travel Hwy 182 east to Hwy 69 south( right turn). About 5 miles out you will turn left onto Lake Lowndes Road which will bring you into the park.
Traveling West on Hwy 82:
1 mile from the Alabama/Mississippi State line, take Lee Stokes Road Exit. Turn left off exit ramp onto Lee Stokes Road. At stop sign by the Shell Service Station - take a right onto Hwy 182 west and drive approximately 2 miles to New Hope Road. At flashing light turn left and follow the signs.
